About KinderCamp: During the final session of our Y Day Camp, we open our arms, hearts, and facilities to children entering kindergarten in the fall. KinderCampers will participate in all of the great Y Camp activities, led by staff members with a specialty in working with younger children. Activities will be adapted to be age-appropriate. KinderCamp is designed to be a fun, confidence-building transition from child care to school.
Ages: KinderCamp is only for children entering kindergarten in the fall.
Session Date: August 13-17, 2012.
Facilities: On our 52 acres of fields, woods and river frontage we have a 25 yard in-ground pool, a covered pavilion that seats 120, rest rooms, offices, changing rooms, four lean-tos, an archery range, beach volleyball court, basketball area, playing fields, a canoe launch, and miles of hiking trails.
Activities: Our staff fosters the development of the whole child by providing a wide-variety of fun, age-appropriate activities that promote social, physical, intellectual and emotional growth, and the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Core camp activities include: YMCA swim lessons, sports, arts & crafts, free swim, cooperative games, hiking, theater & music, archery, nature education, canoeing, and opening and closing ceremonies. Session themes provide the focus for many activities.
Hours of Operation: Camp runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm , Monday through Friday (not including transportation time).
Tentative Bus Schedule (pick-up time/drop-off time)
Northern Route: Saxtons River (7:45/5:10)-->BF (8:00/4:55)-->Chester (8:25/4:30)-->Springfield (8:40/4:15)

KinderCampers stay with this staff team throughout the day. This team is joined at each activity by a Y Camp senior counselor who specialize in that activity (ie: arts & crafts, archery, swim lessons, etc.).
Groups and Ratios: KinderCamp is limited to ten campers, putting the camper:staff ratio at 5:1.
Family Night: Parents, grandparents, siblings and friends are invited to Family Night, held on July 19 and August 16. Family Night allows KinderCampers (and other Y Campers) to share with their families the projects and activities that they have participated in during camp. Family Nights are always a hit!
Tuition: $175 plus a $25 administrative fee. Financial Assistance is available.
